Boy I did not realize I have been so busy in life that I have gone a whole month and a few days without blogging. I am a very bad girl. I really am trying to stay off the computer at night so I can walk with hubby and talk with him too. But tonight he has a meeting so I can do my thing while watching Dancing with the Stars. Boy do I love this show. I am so hoping that one of the girls win. I do think Gilles is hot but Cherly has enough trophies it is time to have new blood win the mirror ball. I personally want to see Melissa win. I love Tony and he is so deserving. This is the first time he has had a partner get him to the finale. Well we only have 20 minutes and we will know the winner. Fire!

Well last night I got my son Arby's for dinner. He got the Regular Beef N Cheddar sandwich wrapped in there foil. Well he decided to wait to eat them at home. We walk in the door he goes to the microwave and throws the sandwich, wrapper and all into the microwave. Two seconds later my daughter is screaming FIRE! Yes the apple does not fall far from the tree. Now my son has caught the microwave on fire. Boy do wrappers go up in flame fast. LOL. We will definitely be eating out not taking out food. LOL. Thank God for my Hubby!

I cannot cook. It is a known fact. I have caused one oven fire from chicken nuggets, one microwave fire from frozen biscuits and a Styrofoam plate and now I have succeeded in catching a George Foreman on fire. I officially turn my kitchen over to who ever wants it. LOL. Last night as I was trying to cook a burger on the Foreman I notice smoke. I assume that it is the grease from the burger and no big deal. Well hubby comes in the kitchen and says do you realize the Foreman is on fire. WHAT? He walks over to the counter and notices that I was cooking the cord instead of the burger. LOL. Thank God he caught it when he did or we would have had no kitchen or house left. I guess the George will continue to work for the next time hubby wants to use it. But I will not be using it or any other appliance in my kitchen. As my sign over my oven reads. Kitchen closed this chicks gone to Walmart. Of course it needs to read Kitchen closed this chicks at a restaurant. LOL. Happy Cooking and Eating to All of You! I am off to McDonald's LOL.

Perfectly Frank's

Our friends took us yesterday to a really cute restaurant right off Main Street in Summerville at 119 West Doty Avenue called Perfectly Frank's. This is a hot dog joint that also sells Hamburgers and Tacos. The hot dogs have some really great names and come with toppings I would not have thought of. Such as the Frank Morgan which has mac and cheese, or how about a Frankie Avalon which has homemade creamy slaw. I had the Frank that was a hot dog with mustard, I know boring, but that is me. Now my son had the Benjamin Franklin with there homemade chili and cheese sauce. The Anne Frank is a turkey dog with Swiss cheese, slaw and spicy mustard. Excellent french fries with sea salt and vinegar, yummy and great prices. The Frank cost 1.95 and is huge hot dog. Note to peanut allergies they do fry in 100 percent peanut oil. So if you are in Summerville and craving a dog go check out Perfectly Frank's.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to Y'All. Hope everyone has a great day and wears there green. We are having Reuben's and Shepherd Pie for dinner along with a green Diet Coke. Hope your green beer is great tasting and you get some form of green dessert. Life is always better with dessert. I think I will eat mine first so I know I have room for it. LOL.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all. Hope you have a great day tomorrow and your Sweetie treats you right. Don't know what my man is going to do for me tomorrow but tonight I am off to Sparkle Salon for a girls night of pampering. We are getting hair styles, manicure's and waxing of the brows. Boy does mine need it. LOL. I will post my exciting night, if I have one on Sunday.

Mad River Bar and Grill

Mad River Bar and Grill in Downtown Charleston, SC is excellent. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is great( it is in the Old Episcopalian Church) and the price is great. All day Monday is half off burgers. Talk about a great deal. You can get two huge burgers for $9.00. I love the Chicago Bull. It is a Kobe burger with cheddar cheese, bacon and a fried egg. Delicious. Definitely a restaurant everyone should try when in Charleston. Be sure to check the website because they have locations in other cities too.

California Dreaming

If I had to pick one restaurant in Charleston, SC that I love it is California Dreaming. It is located on the waterfront across from the city and on the marina. The views are spectacular, the food is incredible and the restaurant looks like a fort. Yes a fort. You walk up steps into a grand room that is octagonal in shape and has the medieval chandelier that castles have. They have indoor and outdoor seating along with a bar. Prices range from $5.95 for appetizers and soups to $9.95 for huge salads and sandwiches to $22.95 for prime rib. They have a varied menu from chicken, steaks, seafood and sandwiches. Secret to seating is the Call Ahead Seating. Make sure you call when on your way and they will seat you as soon as your party is there. Most times this means you walk in the door, pass the people with pagers and get seated immediately. There phone number is (843) 766-1644.

Seniority gets Priority at IHOP!

My Baby is 13 I feel Old!

I cannot believe my baby is 13. Where did the time go. It seems like just yesterday I was excited to be pregnant and awaiting his arrival. Now he is all grown up and wants little to do with me. LOL. Snow in the Lowcountry!

We are driving home from a wonderful weekend with my cousins in Georgia and there precious baby boy, "Thank you both for such a great weekend,"when all of a sudden my husband wakes me and says it is snowing. I woke up and said "What a cruel joke." Then what do my eyes see but SNOW. YEA! It has been since 2000 that we have seen snow. As we are driving it gets heavier and faster. We pull off at a gas station and my kids are running around with there mouth and hands open catching flakes. Meanwhile this guy is buying ice cream at Dairy Queen and laughing at the kids. Hey not there fault they don't remember snow, nor have they ever gotten to play in it. At one point it was so heavy and laying on the ground that I really could not believe we where in the Lowcounty. But regretfully at home we had flakes but nothing to write home about. No snow day for my children. LOL. But we will always remember Tuesday, January 20, 2009 as a snow day and hope the next one is coming soon.

I love eating out.

You gotta love Ryan's Restaurants. Last night the kids and I went to Ryan's.(Hubby want go, states it all tastes the same.) The fact that the kids can eat all they want for $3.99 with a drink is such a bargain. Four of us ate for $18 bucks. They needed to roll all of us out the door when we where done. LOL. I love there rolls and they do have steak on the buffet every night. I must say it was a lot better than the last time we went. Now my middle child gets one item, eats three quarters of it, then pronounces he did not like it and needs to go get something else. But my youngest can eat anyone under the table. We have all moved on to dessert and she is still eating. She then can get dessert, eat it and then decide she is going to eat spaghetti, since she is not full. I do worry about her. She will probably be bigger then a house. LOL. Hope that metabolism of hers never slows. Now tonight we are eating in it is WAY TO COLD. Us Southerners do not like this weather. It is 36 degrees right now and heading into the teens. Christmas was 80 degrees and we where in shorts. Our beloved "adopted Father" is bringing over dinner. Thank God I don't have to cook. It is a rare occasion for me to fix a meal. LOL. I like to keep the restaurants in business. Have a great night and stay warm. Thanks for visiting.

IHOP

IHOP offers kids eat free with an adult entree every Monday and Wednesday night from 3pm to 8pm. Right now is the time to go because you can get for $4.99 all you can eat pancakes and the kids eat free. Or for $5.99 you can get two eggs, two sausages or bacon, hash brown's and all you can eat pancakes. We enjoyed this establishment at 3am Sunday morning since they are open 24 hours on the weekends. We love IHOP. So go "hop" into your nearest location. IHOP, UHOP we ALLHOP

Wiinjured

My family is suffering from Wiinjuries. Yes this is my new word. The injuries have occured from Wii. My son has pulled the muscles in his side and stomach due to Wii tennis. My husband has hurt his back and I am suffering from right upper arm pain from Wii bowling. My girlfriend said her daughter's shoulder is hurting from there Wii. Is anyone else out there suffering a Wiinjury?

The Kickin Chicken

Tonight we ate at The Kickin Chicken in Summerville. This was our first time there and it opened in 2005. The reason we ventured there was the kids meals are $.99 every day, all day. Now with three kids this is a great deal. They offer grilled cheese on a pita, pizza on a pita, nachos or chicken fingers and they come with a drink. Adults can order anything it does not affect the kids meal price. The food is excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The do have a bar and an outside patio. The restaurant is non smoking. There are several locations in the Tri-County area so if you want a good meal that is reasonably priced go try them.

Holiday Festival of Lights

Every Christmas we head to James Island County Park for the Holiday Festival of Lights. This is a drive thru event that has millions of lights in the form of different holiday themes, Low Country favorites and nursery rhymes. My favorite is the Weight Watcher display where Rudolph is measuring the chimney opening with Santa watching him. The kids roast marshmallows at Santa's Village, ride the carousel and we all ride the train. The event runs until January 4th so if you are in the Tri-County area don't miss this great family festival.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year! I hope you all have a great holiday. We are enjoying a quiet night at home baking cookies after experiencing the hordes of happy, last minute shoppers at Northwoods Mall. The line for Santa was unbelievable. Luckily he was in a jolly good mood. The sales where great and the kids loved the Dollar Store for gifts for us. They are so generous. LOL. The only one who will have surprises under our tree will be our dogs. LOL.

Can We Say Wii!

I don't know about y'all but my children had wanted the Wii last Christmas but had not said one word about it this year until this week. I would have brought it last year but it was impossible to find. Now earlier this year and even this month, it was available, until now. Now that my kids have decided they want one there is none to be found. The Walmart sales clerk was real helpful letting me know that there will be plenty after Christmas. Well DUH! So I guess Santa is writing my kids an IOU. It will not be there first IOU. Two years ago they got the IOU for the Nintendo DS. Once again they decided they wanted it the week before Christmas, no such luck finding it. So the day after Christmas Best Buy had gotten them back in and they cashed in there IOU. This year it will probably be a week or more before that IOU gets cashed in but the wait will be worth it. HOPEFULLY! In the meantime, should I buy them any games for this Wii or wait? How do you think they will feel opening games to a system they do not have? Or should there be no gifts under the tree but the note? Oh the Christmas season and the joys of shopping. LOL.

Christmas Parade

Sunday was our wonderful Christmas Parades in Downtown Summerville and Mount Pleasant. I love these events. The excitement of the kids, the parade attendees and watchers and the vendors selling stuff. The Summerville Parade began at 2pm and we arrived at 1pm. Got our same spot as years gone by and this year we remembered the chairs. LOL. The children were given cookies by a local church and we even remembered the cooler. No walking to McD's this year, good thing since it is closed at this time for rebuilding. The warning of the parade starting is a canyon being fired. Then the excitement begins. The first out are our wonderful men in blue on bikes. They did a great job. Next we have all our wonderful town people including the Mayor in convertibles. Next is the school bands then the floats begin. The boy scouts are giving out candy, the reason my kids attend, LOL, pencils are given by schools and then we have the "fight". Yes I mean fight and it was not in the parade it was my children. A nice young girl from a church float hands my middle child a skateboard toy, u know one of those tech dek toys, well my oldest freaks out trying to steal it from him. Thus the fighting begins we are talking punching, kicking and screaming. I had to jump out of my chair, grab my oldest, proceed to the empty spot way behind us and yell at him. Then I had to go back and take the toy away, boy was I really angry, I missed floats over this toy. Then my oldest begins I am mad at mom and throws every Candy Cane given him at me. Most hitting me in the face and stomach with great laughs on his part. He is 12, which is really sad. Now back to the parade, I love the News Crews and all the cool Jeeps and Golf Carts. The Confederates shot off guns in front of us, at us and behind us and I jumped every time. LOL. The end of the parade was Santa on the fire truck. Then we rush to pack up, race to the car and drive to Mount Pleasant, about 30 minutes away. This is 3:25pm. We arrive on Coleman Blvd at 3:55pm to signs stating the road closes at 4pm for the parade. Boy were we lucky. We park the car, eat at our favorite restaurant, Iacofano Deli, they sell great pizza, then we set up our chairs and waited for the big parade that is lighted. It begins at 5:45pm. There are even tailgaters at this parade. They go all out some even have RV's. The beginning of this parade is the fireworks. Yes fireworks, it is better than the Fourth of July. They lasted 25 minutes and were spectacular. Then the chorus from a school sang Christmas Songs as we waited for the parade to get to us. We are at the middle of the parade. Then the cheers that the floats are coming. This parade had 138 floats. It is two hours and terrific. The tractor trailers are decorated great, the cars had more lights on them then I had ever seen, some had generators running the lights and we had candy canes galore, none hit me Thank God. LOL. The hillbillies brought out the old cars, even Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies, was riding her rocking chair behind Jethro and his wife, LOL, they were so cool. We had bikes, dancers, gymnastic routines and some of the same ones as the Summerville Parade, but with lights on them. This parade also ends with Santa on the fire truck. So sad to see them end. I love a good parade and now we have to wait until next year, but you can bet we will be there and hopefully with the same friends as this year. Thank you to all who attended this event with us.
